This one is pretty personal.
As this shoot is the beginning of it all, the ignition of all awareness, the origin of creativity and ideas, the turning point where everything changed..
Not only for the birth of a very special project, but for everyone involved in this shooting day.
The glitter and it’s playfulness translate the magic perfectly, that was flowing and is still growing.
Sending 8a for breakfast, celebrating love for dinner.

Second in line, presenting you Stanley, with less then 1 year boulder experience and only during this trip started lead climbing on the rocks. There was no better name and no better route then this one for him, being our daily poet and story teller.
No battle or no war, only silence was listening when he was sending his first 7a project!

“Alicia” 7b+
Suizo - El Chorro (ES)

I wanted to escape winter in Belgium, so I headed south for a climbing adventure.
It resulted in an unexpected prolonged basecamp in El Chorro, with four of us Belgians remaining.
@piotlaurens our climbing guru, motivated us daily, being aware that 2 of our tribe were climbing less then a year!
He helped me trough the climbing process of failure and glory, and inspired me sending 7a’s for breakfast and on rest days.

Therefore this is an ode to him, presenting the first series of climbing pictures on the Andalusian trail.

‘The route Alicia is one of the top routes in El Chorro. In the start she has rather far moves with more technical and good holds. Once figured out the beta, I had to gather enough power to push trough the crux near the chain.
I was feeling pretty stoked whilst climbing, as my best friend was sending his first 7a when this photo was taken!’ @piotlaurens

In 2018 Ief Spincemaille created the artwork “Rope”: a rope of 60 meters in length and 30cm in diameter. Rope has been disproportionately large and has therefore lost its fucntion.
